The University of Iceland is accepting applications for the GRO GEST Fellowship 2026. It is a fully funded training program for 5 months in Reykjavík. Eligibility Criteria
The University of Iceland’s Gender Equality Studies and Training (GEST) program is looking for leaders who want to make a real difference in gender equality. To join the 2026 program (January to May 30 ECTS credits) you must meet these requirements:
- Education Background
- Have a bachelor degree in any field like BA BS or BEd.
- Work Experience
- At least 2 years of work in gender equality areas like policy advocacy research or community projects.
- English Skills
- Must speak and write English very well for work and studies.
- Track Record of Creating Change
- Prove you have led projects that broke barriers or created fair solutions in tough situations.
- Leadership Potential
- Be early in your career or doing research.
- Age under 35 is preferred.
- Ready to use new skills to create change in your community.
- Country Background
- Must be from a low or middle income country or area affected by conflict.
- Your country should be on the DAC list for aid support.
- Strong Belief in Equality
- Show passion for fairness for all genders and backgrounds.
- Share past work or future plans that prove this.

Apply Yourself
- If your supervisor nominates you then you will get an invite to submit your own application.
- Submit your personal application in mid or late March.
Move to Next Round
- If your application is good you will enter phase two of the process.
