Applications for the Belgium scholarships 2026-2027 under ASEM-DUO program are now open. The ASEM-DUO Scholarships 2026–2027 give funding to pairs of professors or researchers for short academic exchanges between Wallonia-Brussels Federation (Belgium) and Asia-Pacific countries. Each duo gets €7,000 total to cover travel and daily costs for 18 to 60 days between August 2026 and August 2027. You must apply as a team, one from Belgium and one from a partner country like Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, South Korea or others. Applications close on 13 March 2026 at midday. What is the ASEM-DUO Scholarship 2026–2027?

Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is not for students. It is for teachers and researchers who work at universities.
Who Can Apply?
- Two people must apply together as a pair.
- One person must work at a university in Wallonia-Brussels (Belgium).
- The other person must work at a university in an Asia-Pacific country (like India, China, Japan, Australia, and others listed).
- Both people must:
- Be officially working at their university
- Work at least 50% time
- Be paid by their university
- Their universities must:
- Be officially recognized
- Have an agreement to work together (or plan to sign one within 2 years)
- They can work in any subject. There are no subject limits.
- Nationality (citizenship) does not matter.

- PhD students
- Retired professors (emeritus)
- Teaching assistants
(Some art colleges may have special exceptions.)
Important Rules
- The exchange must happen between the same two universities.
- The same project can only get funding one time.
- If someone received this scholarship in the last 3 years, they may have lower priority.
- A person can apply with different partners, but only one project can win per year.
