Applications for the Creative AI PhD Scholarship 2026 are now available. The UK Research and Innovation AI Centre for Doctoral Training in AI open this scholarship program atUniversity of Surrey. Scholarship Benefits

Our scholarships for full-time candidates are for a period of 4 years and cover:

  • UK home tuition fees
  • Enhanced supplement of £4,000 per year
  • Tax-free maintenance payment of £20,780 per year from 1st October 2026
  • Additional funding for
    • Related training and development opportunities
    • May be available for doctoral students

Eligibility Criteria

  • Demonstrated academic excellence
  • Open to international students
  • Strong interest in AI for digital media inclusion
  • Proven ability to work well in teams
  • Full award for UKRI-funded doctoral students, including stipend and home-level tuition fees
  • Incomplete applications or late applications will not be accepted.

  • A Case Study (600 word Max)

Selection Process

  • We choose PhD students based on academic excellence, interest in AI for digital media inclusion, and teamwork ability.
  • Students will be placed in projects based on specific challenge areas.
