Iceland Summer School Scholarship 2026 in Modern Icelandic Language and Culture
Applications for the Iceland Summer School Scholarship 2026 are now open for international students who want to study the Icelandic language and culture. This program is hosted by the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies and the University of Iceland. It runs from 30 June to 24 July 2026 and offers on campus and online formats. Students will learn modern Icelandic, explore history, literature and society and join cultural trips. The program is very selective with only 35 to 40 seats on campus and 8 seats online. The deadline to apply is 15 February 2026.

About the Iceland Summer School Scholarship
The Árni Magnússon Institute and University of Iceland run this summer school. It teaches modern Icelandic and shows Icelandic life history literature and nature. You learn from good teachers in small classes. On-campus you live in Iceland, see museums, go on trips and meet people. Online you join from home with flexible times. Both give you real skills and credits for university. It is good for people who like languages, Nordic culture or want to know Iceland.

Eligibility Criteria

- Not living in Iceland (international applicants)
- Planning to start university in the same academic year
