Fellowship Benefits
The grant provides up to $10,000 each year. The stipend can cover the following costs for graduate research assistants:
- Tuition fees
- Housing
- Basic living expenses
- Travel expenses to the institution of study
Eligibility Criteria
For Nominators
- Qualifications and Job
- Should have a PhD in mathematics, and must be working as a university professor.
- Must be guiding Master’s or PhD students in mathematics right now.
- Should be working at a university or a research center.
- It’s better if the nominator has guided the nominee before.
- PhD students themselves cannot nominate anyone.
For Student Nominees
- Academic Performance and Career Plans
- Should have a very good academic record in mathematical sciences, and should want to work in teaching or research in mathematics.
- Admission Status
- Should already be accepted, or almost accepted, into a known PhD program.
- Citizenship and Living
- Must be a citizen and also live in a developing country, as per the IMU list.
- Study Location
- Should be doing their PhD at a known university or research center in one of the developing countries listed by the IMU.
- Research Details
- Must have a thesis advisor and a clear research project.
