1- Monthly Funding
- For Professors, Associate Professors, Research Fellows, or Associate Research Fellows:
- NT$60,000 per month
- For Assistant Professors, Assistant Research Fellows, or Doctoral Candidates:
- NT$50,000 per month

Eligibility Criteria
1- Study Area
- Must be in social sciences or humanities.
- Research must focus on Taiwan, cross-strait relations, Mainland China, Asia-Pacific region or Sinology.
2- Who Qualifies
- Must be a foreign national working at a university or research institute abroad.
- Must be one of these:
- Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor
- Post-doctoral researcher, Doctoral candidate or PhD student
- Research fellow (or similar role)
- People recommended by Taiwan’s overseas offices (if their work relates to Taiwan’s foreign or cross-strait policies) can also apply.
- Open to applicants from all countries
3- Language Rules
- All research proposals and communication must be in English.
4- Who Cannot Apply
- Anyone already doing research teaching or studying in Taiwan.
5- After the Research
- Must submit a written report (at least 20 pages) within 3 months after finishing.
- Must join academic events and seminars organized by MOFA while in Taiwan.
