The Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP) Nonresident Fellowship 2026–2027 is a 12-month fully funded program for professionals from the Middle East and North Africa who work on governance civil society policy accountability or social change. You get a stipend based on your experience and work remotely while producing policy analysis events or other outputs. The fellowship starts in mid-May 2026 and helps you build skills connect with experts and shape public talks on MENA issues. Up to 12 fellows join each year. Applications close on 27 February 2026.

About the TIMEP Nonresident Fellowship

TIMEP is a policy institute that works on justice and good governance in the Middle East and North Africa. The fellowship lets you lead your own project on a topic like politics, security, economy, law, social movements, migration or misinformation. You focus on countries like Egypt Tunisia Sudan Syria Lebanon or others. You work from home but join online meetings and events. The goal is to make real change through research, advocacy and policy ideas.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You must have at least five years of work or study in policy advocacy media law or civil society.
  • You need a bachelor’s degree or more.
  • You should speak English and Arabic very well.
  • You must show commitment to justice accountability and reform.
  • You need good ties to MENA region or civil society.
  • It is for applicants from Middle East and North Africa.
