2025 Deterrence Futures Fellowship in UK – Open Applications

The UK Nuclear Deterrence Network has started the Deterrence Futures Fellowship. Applications are open now for the Deterrence Futures Fellowship 2025. This is a special 18-month program desinged to bring together a mix of professionals who work on nuclear deterrence strategy. It is for people early or midway in their careers. The program looks at UK and NATO deterrence plans, new tech challenges and relationship between deterrence and disarmament. It is run by King’s College London the University of Leicester and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). The goal is to build a group of people from different areas who want to improve security studies as the world changes.

18 Month Program Activities

This 1.5 year program helps fellows:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (List Mentioned Below).
  • Professional Experience: You should have 3 to 7 years of experience in fields like:

    • Armed forces
    • Think tanks
    • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
    • Private sector (especially in defense, technology, or security)
  • Location: Must be based in the United Kingdom or another European NATO member country.
