The Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO) is currently accepting applications for the ANSO Scholarship 2025 in China. ANSO offers 500 scholarships a year including 200 Master’s and 300 Ph.D. scholarships to students who want to study at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) institutes and University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
The CAS-ANSO Scholarship will cover the full study costs. Candidates from all around the world are welcome, and you can present alternative documentation of your English language skills if you don’t have the IELTS or TOEFL. Benefits of ANSO Scholarship
The ANSO Scholarship comes with a variety of valuable benefits for recipients:
- Generous Monthly Stipend:
- PhD students will receive 6,000 to 7,000 CNY per month, for a maximum of 48 months.
- Master’s degree students will receive 3,000 CNY per month, for a maximum of 36 months.

Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: Candidates must not be citizens of China.
- University Criteria: Needs to meet certain standards established by the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS).
- Language Proficiency: Proven ability to communicate in Chinese or English.
- Age Requirements:
- Candidates for master’s degrees must have been born after January 1, 1995.
- Doctoral/Phd candidates must be born after January 1, 1990.
Require Documents
- Passport Copy with one year validity required
- CV
- Photocopy of an academic transcript or degree (Bachelor/Master)
- Letter of recommendation (phone number and E-mail must be included)
- A study/research proposal (No less than 800 words)
- Foreign physical examination form
- For Chinese Language Programs:
- Must have a photocopy of the HSK certificate (Minimum Level 4) or other proof of Chinese language proficiency.
- For English Language Programs:
- Applicants except for native English speakers must provide a valid photocopy of IELTS or TOEFL results or other proof of English proficiency.

- Access the University Portal: Go to the official websites of the UCAS or the USTC.
- Save Your Application: Apply online using the USTC/UCAS admissions system.
- Choose the Scholarship: When applying, be sure to choose the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents.
- Send in Your Application: Before the deadline, send in your application with all necessary documents.
Remember, applying for the ANSO Scholarship at both USTC and UCAS at the same time will get your application disqualified. So, make sure to pick one and focus your efforts there.
