ICANN86 Fellowship 2026 | Fully Funded | Spain
The ICANN86 Fellowship 2026 is now open for applications. This fully funded program will happen in Seville, Spain from 8 to 11 June 2026. The fellowship is part of the ICANN Policy Forum. It is made to bring new and different voices into talks about how the Internet is run. Applicants from all countries can apply. There is no application fee. Selected fellows will get airfare, housing, meals, a stipend and airport rides.

Purpose of the ICANN Fellowship
The ICANN Fellowship Program helps new voices join world Internet policy talks. Its main goals are:
- Bring people from different areas and backgrounds into Internet governance.
- Create a more diverse and balanced Internet community worldwide.
- Include people from underserved and underrepresented communities.
During the program, fellows:
- Work with mentors.
- Go to training sessions.
- Learn about ICANN’s policy and decision process.

Financial Benefits
All selected fellows will receive full support:
- Round trip airfare
- Daily meals and refreshments

About ICANN Fellowship
ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the body that ensures the Internet remains secure, stable, and open.
The fellowship program helps participants:
- Understand how ICANN works.
- Gain mentorship and practical training.
- Build networks with Internet experts and leaders.
- Join community discussions and policy sessions.
Fellows are expected to continue contributing to ICANN even after the program ends.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the ICANN86 Fellowship 2026, applicants must:
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Be from any country or region.
- Complete mandatory ICANN Learn courses before applying.
- Have already completed one ICANN Fellowship (for Policy Forum applicants).
- Show interest in ICANN’s work, including:
- Internet policy development
- Domain Name System (DNS) management
- Internet security and stability
- Not be part of another ICANN-funded travel program.
- Have received no more than two fellowships in the past.
Returning fellows who show strong engagement may receive special recognition:
- Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition (for outstanding contribution).
- Paul Muchene Fellow Award (for technical experts from Africa).

Required Documents
Applicants must prepare:
- Valid passport
- Other travel or identity documents required by their country
- Visa for Spain (check with local Spanish consulate)
- Transit visas if needed for connecting flights
Fellowship Requirements
Selected fellows must:
- Join mentoring sessions before and during the event.
- Attend ICANN86 meetings and workshops in Seville.
- Complete all required ICANN Learn courses.
- Complete a post-meeting survey.
- Engage actively with other fellows and ICANN community members.
After the fellowship, participants are encouraged to stay active in ICANN projects and alumni networks.

Only applicants who have previously completed an ICANN Fellowship are eligible to apply for the Policy Forum Fellowship (ICANN86).
