IGAD BE-Prosper Blue Grant Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded)
Applications for the Blue Grant Scholarship 2026 are now available in Canada. It is a fully funded graduate scholarship at the University of British Columbia in Canada for professionals from South Sudan, Somalia and Djibouti. It focuses on blue economy topics like fisheries, marine policy, coastal governance and ocean resources. What is the Blue Grant Scholarship 2026?
This scholarship is part of the IGAD BE-Prosper project. It helps mid-career professionals from the Horn of Africa study at UBC. You learn about sustainable use of oceans, fisheries trade and marine resources. The goal is to train people who can help their countries grow blue economy sectors. It is not for fresh graduates. It is for people already working in government NGOs, private sector or international organizations who want to gain advanced knowledge and return home to make real changes.

Eligibility Criteria
- You must be a national of South Sudan, Somalia or Djibouti.
- You should be between 25 and 40 years old.
- You need to already work in fisheries, marine policy, coastal governance or related fields.
- You must have a degree in marine science, environmental economics, engineering or similar areas.
- You should show clear commitment to return and work in your country after studies.
- Strong academic record and professional experience are important.
