The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was founded in 1991. It is a government organization dedicated to carrying out Korea’s grant assistance programs. The main objective of the KOICA is to foster friendly and cooperative relationships with partner countries and enable reciprocal exchanges by providing support for their socioeconomic development.
To support the development of its partner nations, KOICA runs a number of initiatives, including the Fellowship Program, the Korea Volunteer Dispatching Program, Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief, Public-Private Partnerships, and Bilateral and Multilateral Projects.

About KOICA Scholarship
In 2025, KOICA is offering 5 PhD programs and 20 master’s programs. The goal of the KOICA Scholarship Program is to prepare future leaders in partner nations to improve the socio-economic standing of their own nations. This notification is limited to 15 programs. During March, application instructions for applying to 10 other courses will be released.

Admission Process of the KOICA Scholarship
These are the following steps for KOICA Scholarship admission.
- Step 1: Government Nomination and Application Document Submission
- Step 2: On-site interview in your home country with the Korean Embassy/KOICA Country Office
- Step 3. Document Screening by the University
- Step 4. Interview or Test conducted by the university in Korea
- Step 5: Local Medical Check-up
- Step 6: When you arrive in Korea, you will have an orientation to learn about the country and a check-up with a doctor to make sure you are healthy.
- Step 7: Explanation, of when you begin your studies for your degree.
- Step 8. Go back to where you live.
