Applications for the NIAS Safe Haven Fellowship 2026-2027 are now available. This fellowship is a program by the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study that helps scholars, journalists, artists and writers who are in danger because of conflicts wars or political pressure. It offers a 5-month stay in Amsterdam so they can work safely in a supportive environment. Eligibility Criteria

  • For Researchers:
    • Must have a PhD.
    • At least 3 years of experience after PhD when applying.
  • For Artists & Journalists:
    • PhD not required.
    • Can show professional experience or strong project background instead.
  • Project Rules: Must be in humanities or social sciences.
  • Language Skills: Must be fluent in English to join discussions and get feedback.
